The Glen at St. Joseph is a Dayton-based nonprofit serving single mothers and their children in a safe, nurturing residential community grounded in trauma-informed care.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Security, the Security Manager coordinates all safety and security operations across The Glen's 24-hour residential campus and serves as a key point of contact for security-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily safety and security operations, including policies, training, incident reviews, and crisis planning.
• Oversee the external security services contract and provide Glen-specific training to contracted officers.
• Coordinate BCI/FBI background screenings for staff, volunteers, and contractors.
• Manage security systems (Lenel access, cameras, alarms) and vendor relationships.
• Build supportive, trauma-informed relationships with residents; respond to and de-escalate incidents.
• Provide resident education on personal safety, emergency preparedness, and conflict resolution.
• Serve as liaison with law enforcement, fire personnel, and neighborhood/community groups.
• Supervise and evaluate contracted security staff.
• Support budget preparation and provide regular reports to leadership.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive experience in security operations, military police, law enforcement, or protective services.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• First Aid and CPR certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Working knowledge of access control (Lenel or comparable), video surveillance, and incident reporting systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention skills.
• Commitment to trauma-informed care principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must pass BCI/FBI background screening.

Physical Requirements

Safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness. Frequent on-foot activity across campus in all weather; must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and respond physically to emergencies.
