The Manager is accountable for operational performance, staffing optimization, regulatory compliance, equipment management, and standardization of practices across all sites. This role partners closely with supervisors, radiologists, biomedical engineering, and health system leadership to drive efficiency, quality, and patient-centered care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly manage and support modality supervisors (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, Interventional, Breast Imaging), many of whom have multi-campus responsibilities; provide coaching, accountability, and leadership development to ensure consistent management practices and strong frontline oversight
  • Partner with supervisors on staffing models, scheduling optimization, and resource allocation across sites; support recruitment, retention, engagement, and performance management initiatives
  • Drive system-wide standardization of workflows, imaging protocols, and operational practices; reduce variation and ensure consistent patient and provider experience across all campuses
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., American College of Radiology (ACR)); support quality assurance programs, patient safety initiatives, and continuous readiness for audits and inspections
  • Partner with supervisors and biomedical engineering to oversee the life cycle of imaging equipment across all sites, including planning, acquisition, utilization, and replacement.
    • Participate in the development and recommendation of capital equipment plans aligned with clinical needs, growth, and standardized goals.
    • Support supervisors in troubleshooting equipment issues, downtime response, and escalation pathways
    • Ensure effective preventive maintenance programs, service contract management, and vendor coordination
    • Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and utilization metrics to inform decision-making
    • Promote standardization of equipment platforms where appropriate to improve efficiency, training, and serviceability
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, productivity, equipment uptime, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics; collaborate with supervisors to implement process improvements and achieve operational goals
  • Assist the Director with budget planning and oversight; manage labor utilization, productivity, service contracts, and capital planning to ensure fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency
  • Support service line growth and strategic initiatives, including expansion of outpatient imaging and optimization of multi-campus service delivery; contribute to implementation of new technologies and services
  • Serve as a key liaison between supervisors, radiologists, biomedical engineering, IT, nursing, and administrative leadership; ensure clear communication, alignment, and coordination across all campuses
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related) preferred
  • A registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent in a relevant modality is required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in radiology/imaging services
  • 3+ years of leadership experience (supervisor, manager, or above)
  • Demonstrated experience with imaging equipment operations, capital planning, and vendor management
  • Experience in a multi-campus or health system environment is strongly preferred.
