Job Title: Head of Research and Development
Job Description: As the Head of Research and Development (R&D), you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and product development within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. You will lead a team of talented scientists, engineers, and product developers to create cutting-edge products that meet consumer needs and market demands.
Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic vision for R&D initiatives aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Lead the R&D team in identifying emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities for innovation in the CPG industry.
Product Innovation: Drive the development of new products from concept to commercialization, leveraging consumer insights, market research, and technological advancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with brand strategy, product positioning, and market needs.
Technical Excellence: Foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the R&D organization. Set high standards for product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and scientific advancements to drive continuous improvement.
Team Development : Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and product developers. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to enable team members to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of the organization.
Collaboration and Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, research institutions, and industry organizations. Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to drive cross-functional alignment and integration.
Qualifications: Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field such as food science, chemistry, engineering, or related disciplines.
Extensive experience (10+ years) in research and development leadership roles within the consumer packaged goods industry or related sectors.
Proven track record of driving product innovation, development, and commercialization, with a focus on delivering results and achieving business objectives.
Strong technical expertise in areas such as formulation, process development, ingredient functionality, and product optimization.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices related to product development and commercialization.
