Department:                      Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC)

Job Title: Temporary Full-Time Teachers/Assistant Teachers

Full-Time (Temporary)        Non-Exempt                           Wage:  $15.50/hr.

General Definition: ESTO offers exceptional opportunities for caring and enthusiastic individuals who love making a difference in the lives of children to join our team for the busy summer season.   Under supervision the Teachers will direct the daily activities of the child(ren) as assigned to provide an environment and activities contributing to the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development of each child.   Duties will include but not be limited to classroom setting as well as group activities/field trips.

These are temporary full-time positions with the potential for continued part-time employment.

Supervision Received: ECLC Director/Summer Program Lead Teacher

Supervision Exercised:     None

Essential Job Functions:

·         Directs the daily activities of children as requested.

·         Performs clerical and cleaning duties as needed and/or instructed.

·         Directs children in educational activities; supervises children during lunch, naptime, free time, field trips, and transition between activities and playground periods.

·         Prepare materials for scheduled and planned activities under the guidance of the Director or Summer Program Lead Teacher.

·         Prepares materials for scheduled and planned activities as directed.

·         Always provides a safe and stable environment for children and during all activities.

·         Communicates and works harmoniously with diverse families and coworkers.

·         Represents the Tribe in a professional manner at all times, when working with Tribal members, in dealing with outside entities and situations with fellow employees.

·         Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

·         High School Diploma or GED equivalent

·         Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·         Excellent verbal and written communication

·         Organizational skills and time management skills

·         Multi-Tasking skills

·         Excellent customer service

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

·         MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE

·         Current valid driver’s license

·         Must be able to pass a background check.

·         Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
